Today's trek is short but allows you to acclimatise to the altitude. The trail follows the Marsyangdi river, partly on the road but there are a number of points where trekkers have their own trail. Arrive at Bratang in time for lunch. The farmhouse here is home to Nepal's largest apple orchard and their freshly pressed apple juice is delicious. After lunch, walk around the orchard where you are welcome to pick your own apples. There is also an apple winery and distillery with free tastings available in the evening. The hotel offers a range of extra activities including archery and an indoor climbing wall. There is also a pool table and a number of games.

The trail today has a gradual increase in altitude and passes through forest and open stretches offering stunning views of Annapurna I. Stop for a break in the small village of Humde where flights used to operate from the small airport. Continue towards Braka where you will be based for the next few days. The hotel here is extremely comfortable and by far the best in the area. The lovely rooms look out on Annapurna III and IV and there are extensive views of the Marsyangdi river and stunning natural landscape. Rooms have electric blankets and hot water bottles, so you will be warm.
Meals included: breakfast and dinner
Walking time: 4 hours
Overnight: Braka | Altitude: 3500 m
DAY 6
Today we need to acclimatise further with a day hike above Braka. Hike to Gangapurna lake before returning to Manang for a look around. The trail is steep and it takes around 3 hours to reach the lake from where there are stunning views. Alternatively, you can take a lower trail towards the village of Ngawal. This is a lovely walk with stunning views.
